Well, I gotta hand it to you: you certainly aren’t ashamed to speak out about your own country’s shortcomings  (assuming the USA *is* your country, that is). Not many Americans do – mainly because most are too ignorant or to know what actually goes on, and why. As for the idea that the British are smarter, financially (or smarter in any way for that matter), I’m not at all convinced… If they are so smart, how come their standard of living in the UK isn’t as high as in the USA (let’s ignore the fact that they enjoy free health care for now!)? OK, maybe it is due to the economies of scale that America enjoys due to its size, and also its vast wealth of natural resources. BTW, while we are on the subject of America’s shortcomings, you forgot to mention the archaic injustice system! Believe it or not, I actually sympathise with your views. I think that part of the cause is that most Americans (with the help of Hollywood) have brainwashed themselves into believing they are somehow God’s chosen race (land of the brave, home of the free, God bless America, and all that stuff) and think they can’t do anything wrong. And when they *do* do something wrong, they can’t see it – or it doesn’t seem to reach public awareness – or Hollywood produces a few movies to tell the people what they want to believe – not the real truth.
